KIDS FOR HEALTH

CRITTENDEN & ST. FRANCIS
Kids for Health, a comprehensive health education curriculum, is taught to youth in Kindergarten through 6th grade in Crittenden and St. Francis County schools.

SAFE SITTER

CRITTENDEN & ST. FRANCIS
UAMS in West Memphis offers the Safe Sitter course. This program provides hands-on practice in lifesaving techniques. Babysitters receive instruction on how to prevent problem behavior, how to run their own babysitting business, as well as basic first aid and infant/child choking rescue.

CPR/FIRST AID

American Heart Association CPR and First Aid classes are held regularly for both healthcare providers and lay responders.

HEALTH EDUCATION FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN

UAMS in West Memphis hosts a variety of educational sessions at local schools, churches, business and healthcare facilities. Presenters prepare topics ranging from blood pressure to personal hygiene. Summer youth camps focusing on healthy lifestyles are also offered.

HEALTH SCREENINGS

CRITTENDEN & ST. FRANCIS
UAMS in West Memphis provides health screenings on a regular basis to residents in Crittenden and St. Francis County. Event locations included: festivals, churches, schools, businesses, community centers, etc. Blood pressure, blood glucose, total cholesterol, iron, sickle cell trait, HIV and Body Fat/ BMI are screenings provided FREE to the service area.

CO-ED SAFETY BABY SHOWERS

CRITTENDEN
UAMS in West Memphis hosts monthly Co-Ed Safety Baby Showers offering group education on home and child passenger safety for expectant mothers, fathers and their support system in a fun baby shower setting.
