Health care professionals are highly trained individuals who want to make a difference for the individuals they serve. As a result of many changes and shortages in health care, especially in rural areas, many health professions are predicted to be some of the fastest growing occupations during the next two decades. By expanding already existing programs, along with creating new ones, we hope to meet the employment demands created by these growing professions. Health careers include both direct patient care and non-direct patient care, so there is a job that is right for you.

Through our Pre-Health recruiter, UAMS Southwest is working to promote healthcare professions in our region. Our Pre-Health recruiting mission is to connect motivated students with rewarding careers in healthcare and to provide students with information about jobs available in healthcare, connect them with current health care professionals, educators, and other students.

UAMS Southwest offers these health careers programs: AIM, Club Scrub, M*A*S*H, and Hands on Health Care. In addition to our programs, classroom presentations are available to elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and colleges. These presentations provide basic information on health careers, along with a hands-on activity. For more information on our health career programs, e-mail Bradi Kelley.
